As they step into their first season in the USL Championship, Oakland Roots asked us to help them establish targets, benchmarks and leading indicators based on empirical evidence. We also helped build a recruitment system to meet their annual objectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>

We analysed historical data to find trends within the USL and to highlight priorities. Based on this, we used our statistical models to provide quality benchmarks for the type of players they needed. Throughout the process, we set clear multi-year objectives based on league trends, financial expectations and club-specific priorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>

In their inaugural season, The Roots reached the USL Championship play-offs and upset their top-ranked opponent in the quarter-finals, before losing on penalties in the conference semi-final.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>
